The Department of Electrical Engineering, DEE, of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC, was constituted 1987 in fulfillment of the Law of University Reform, L.R.U. Since then the DEE has been organized in Departmental Sections of territorial area.

The Departmental Section of Vilanova i la Geltrú is in charge of the teaching of the DEE in the Campus of Vilanova i la Geltrú. It does research and offers services to the industry and to the institutions of its environment in the areas characteristic of the Electrical Engineering.

At present, the Departmental Section of Vilanova i la Geltrú of the DEE they form it 10 professors.
